RCC Fabricators, Inc.is in the midst of their, three-year project fabricating custom sign structures for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. These structures will be utilized during the widening project along the New Jersey Turnpike from Inter-changes 6 thru 9 for the mounting of variable message signs. This type of design is the first for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and consists of the fabrication and delivery of forty (40) 5 feet wide by 10 feethigh box truss structures approximately 70 feet in length. These structures are comprised of 1.6 million pounds of weathering tube steel. Our 53,000 square foot facility, with its 40 foot high ceilings and 40 ton capacity overhead cranes, allows us to assemble all of the structures, complete with grating, access ladders and fall arrest system, with ease and versatility. The design of these structures permits the Turnpike Authority's Maintenance Division to inspect and/or make any repairs that may be needed on the signs without utilizing a lane shutdown. Once the units have been assembled, they will be delivered, complete, to the Turnpike Authority's designated yard, where they will await their erection. In addition to the VMS & VSLS Sign Structures project, RCC Fabricators has also begun the fabrication of their second contract with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. This contract consists of fabricating 99 traditional signs tructures for the support of the static directional signs. Similar to the VMS & VSLS Sign Structures project, these structures are being fabricated from 1.4 million pounds of weathering steel and are expected to be completed by December of 2011.

New Jersey Sports & Exposition Center Railway Link & Station
In July 2009, Creamer-Sanzari-Railroad - A Triventure completed the Meadowlands Railroad and Roadway Improvement Project. The purpose of this job was to facilitate direct access into the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Center from all of the major railways in New Jersey and New York. This project was awarded the Merit Award for Public Work by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Concrete Institute at their 47thAnnual Concrete Awards Dinner. The scope of work included the installation of 2.27 miles of railway track and the construction of 3,500 feet of elevated structures supported by pipe piles. A new alignment was created through the Hackensack Meadowlands with a mile long combination of two long bridge structures and a short intermediate causeway approved by the NJDEP. Pre-stressed, pre-cast concrete was the chosen solution to address project concerns. Pre-cast concrete hammerheads could be installed very quickly onto the poured-in-place concrete columns. Pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete box beams provided high strength in low profile sections to meet existing grade requirements and long spans. Pre-cast concrete sections lent themselves to more rapid construction with simplified connections and minimal disturbance to the environmentally sensitive wetlands. Self-leveling, self-compacting concrete additives in the pre-cast, pre-stressed box beams increased strength and ensured compaction without aggregate segregation. Silica fume additives increased concrete strength, density and eliminated the need for applying expensive epoxy coatings for corrosion protection of concrete. The project delivered average strengths in excess of 6,500 PSI. Approximately19,000 cubic yards of concrete were utilized on this phase of the project.Concrete placement began in April 2007 and this phase was completed in 2008.The Meadowlands Station included the installation of a two-story station facility with a pedestrian overpass that connects the two cast-in-place concrete plat forms that both extended over 950 feet along the tracks. The platforms and station concrete placements continued through the winter of 2008/2009. This required extensive protection against freezing weather for much of this period. Heated concrete, insulated blankets and temporary heat was provided throughout this phase of the project. Approximately 3,000 cubicyards of concrete were utilized on this phase of the project. The raillines and station for this new hub were put into service on opening day ceremonies in July 2009.
